Joel Rogo, Trustee, Mid-Columbia Ballet Representative
Joel has owned Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet and Music and directed the non-profit Mid-Columbia Ballet for more than 26. He is an active member of the community serving on the Richland Public Facilities District Board for 10 years. He's also a member of the Columbia Center Rotary and has worked with most of the performing arts groups
in the area.
Joel comes to the Tri-Cities with an extensive background as a dancer and stage manager. He began his professional career as a dancer and stage manager touring the Far East and Australia with DISNEY ON PARADE. Joel was a dancer and stage manager on the original Australian production of A CHORUS LINE, and it was there that he met his wife of 34 years, Debra. Other international credits include house manager of Michael Edgley's GREATEST CIRCUS ON EARTH, and stage manager of Hanna Barberra's arena show YABBA DABBA DOO in Mexico City. Joel was a stage manager for Disney Theatrical’s first and second national tours of the Broadway show BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
Joel was an assistant production manager and stage manager for Opera Omaha where, he helped to stage numerous ballets including NUTCRACKER and GISELLE, and operas such as AIDA, TALES OF HOFFMANN, DON GIOVANNI, HANSEL AND GRETEL, DON PASQUALE, FAUST, and MADAMA BUTTERFLY.
Before moving to the Tri-Cities, Joel was the stage manager for 42ND STREET starring Peter Marshall and Constance Towers. He also worked backstage on the Los Angeles productions of CATS, EVITA, SOPHISTICATED LADIES, and THE ACADEMY AWARD CEREMONIES to name just a few of his many credits
